Khasadrapchu and Begana Zams were inaugurated today (6th Of June 2023) by Her Excellency, Hon’ble Sowai Lyonpo, Dasho Dechen Wangmo & His Excellency, Shri Sudhakar Dalela, Ambassador of India to Bhutan.
The 28 meter span Khasadrapchu zam was constructed at the cost of Nu.31.447million and 21 meter span Begana zam at Nu.33.370million by M/s Lhendup Norbu Construction. These bridges have significantly enhanced load carrying capacities of 70MT on our vital roads leading to Bjemina industrial area under Kawang Gewog, and on the access road to historical Tango & Chari monasteries, leading to Naro Gewog in the north of Thimphu Dzongkhag.
The inauguration of these two bridges today is yet another symbol of the strong and enduring partnership between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India.
From the total nine bridges planned for the 12FYP, six bridges have already been completed so far with two other bridges on the verge of completion.
